Mainstream health providers such as the NHS focus on treatment of the patient. LifeSearch Care fills the gaps with a friendly listening ear, practical information and the much needed emotional support you and your family need.

Services available include:

  • Ongoing access to your own Personal Nurse Adviser - a highly experienced registered nurse available for you to call in normal business hours.
  • A free home visit from a specialist health professional: this might be a nurse specialising in oncology, cardiology, or neurology, a speech or occupational therapist, a physio or a counsellor.
  • A care plan to help provide ongoing support
  • Contact details and fact-sheets for specialist charities and self-help groups
  • Initial Nurse Adviser call: The diagnosis of a serious health condition can be worrying. We'll put you in touch with a Specialist Nurse Adviser who understands your condition and can listen to your concerns and offer help and advice.
  • Ongoing Support: Following your initial call, your nurse will call to work out how best to provide for your needs for emotional and practical support. Regular calls are put in place - in many cases this relationship continues for several years. Our nurses can also support the family in bereavement.
  • Additional Help: Where clinically appropriate, your nurse will suggest support to speed up recovery and make life more comfortable. This may include a Specialist Nurse visit, physiotherapy, speech and language therapy, or direction to self-help and support groups. We also offer guidance on home adaptation and on specialist aids to everyday living.

Common questions

LifeSearch Care is available free of charge when you've been a LifeSearch customer for 12 months or more. It's available to your dependents too. We can put you in touch with a personal nursing adviser when you make your claim.

Your main point of contact will be a specialist registered nurse with experience of your condition. Your specialist nurse adviser is available in normal business hours on an ongoing basis with no time limits.

Your specialist nurse adviser will discuss your needs and offer help and advice to support you and your family. This may include helping you with questions to ask your consultant, information about your condition, or provision of further support and therapy.

You have access to it for as long as your policy is active, and what’s more – there isn’t a time limit once you are using the service for any specific claim.
