This award has always previously gone to a Life Office MD or CEO. But as you heard earlier, for most in those positions, it is simply too early to judge. But for one person, recognition comes a year late, because her achievements were happening at the same time as our 2011 awards. But there is no doubt that she was the key internal leader that got our biggest insurer to focus their brand advertising on Protection and to do so in a courageous and emotive and very effective way. I’m sure she has had to win many internal debates about the controversies that the honest and clear marketing of protection can cause, but her efforts have meant that the biggest current insurer brand campaign still often focuses on Protection whenever it runs. For that, all of us are in her debt, and if this award causes any of you to wish to emulate her achievements in your organisations, than it’s the most important of the lot today.
