European gender ruling ups insurance - Daily Finance
"The European Court of Justice ruling banning insurers from using statistically proven differences between men and women is mad and bad. In an ideal world it would lead to cleverer, more sophisticated risk analysis not based on gender, but I fear insurers will use it to push up rates for all and reduce payouts.
The court itself thinks its own ruling is mad. It has applied the law as the law currently stands but thinks the law is an ass. ..."
